Excellent choice to detect b-lactamase-production strains in a Molecular Laboratory.

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Molecular Laboratory

We have been using the ARM-D Kit, b-lactamase for a few years in our Lab. The kit is ready to use and contains all the reagents necessary for the test, including the controls. The procedure and results analysis are simple and straight forward. The test is fast, reliable and overall, it represents an excellent choice to detect and identify beta-lactamase-production bacteria strains in a Molecular Laboratory.

Good kit for gains of efficiency in the laboratory.

Application Area:

Great multiplexed assay for CRE detection

This kit has simplified our workflow in the laboratory. Previously we were using the CDC designed assay for CRE detection. However, that is a single plex assay that needed more hands-on time. The Streck kit was easy to complete the verification study and is currently in use. For the full fledged panel, this is a good choice.

Application Area:

Antibiotic resistance genes testing

Our laboratory has been using the Streck ARM-D PCR kits for beta lactamase gene detection for over two years now. The test is quick, accurate, and easy to use. We can quickly teach our technologists how to run and interpret the test. The test works very well on many PCR platforms, but we prefer the ABI 7500 DX. The PCR itself only takes 35 minutes so starting from a bacterial culture, extracting the DNA, setting up the master mix, and getting a result only takes about 2.5 hours. The nice thing is that the PCR cycling parameters are similar for the other ARM-D tests (ampC, OXA, and mcr). We are therefore able to perform them all on one PCR plate if we need to save time.

The ARM-D Kit, β-Lactamase is part of a family of comprehensive, multiplex real-time PCR kits that detect over 1,000 antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene variants from 26 different gene target families. Streck ARM-D Kits provide a rapid detection strategy for monitoring β-lactam antibiotic resistance. With these kits, your lab can improve surveillance, aid antibiotic stewardship programs and support infection control programs. These kits have a high degree of sensitivity and specificity, providing you accurate, reliable results. Every kit includes positive controls for each gene target to monitor analytical process as well as an endogenous internal control (16SrRNA gene) to reduce false negatives due to PCR inhibition, DNA degradation or poor extraction.

All Streck ARM-D kits are compatible with most 4-channel real-time thermal cyclers. An amplification protocol and analysis guide are available for the following instruments: Applied Biosystems™ 7500 Fast and 7500 Fast Dx, QuantStudio™ 7Flex, Bio-Rad CFX96 Touch™ and QIAGEN Rotor-Gene® Q.
