Scan: The BioMicroLab Scan combines the latest camera and software technology with a modern, compact design. Designed for high-speed barcode reading for both SBS and standard cyrobox format 2D barcoded tubes, this powerful new reader decodes most rack types in under 1 second.

Scan +: The BioMicroLab SampleScan Plus is a single tube reader that instantly decodes 1D and 2D barcodes into any open application without the need for additional software. The user simply hovers a tube over the scanning window and the SampleScan Plus sounds a friendly beep and flashes a light to indicate the scan was successful. Powered by USB, this plug-and-play barcode reader is compatible with a wide range of barcode types, and includes a rugged metal chassis for use in a range of lab environments. BioMicroLab SampleScan Plus is now BioMicroLab Scan +.

Software SPT Labtech’s BioMicroLab user: Friendly SampleScan instruments scan, decode and output the unique ID number encoded in the two-dimensional barcode on the bottom of the sample tubes and the one-dimensional barcode on the side of the rack. The SampleScan Software captures the 2D barcode image, decodes the barcode(s), and outputs the data in a user configurable .csv (excel-like) file format for easy use with your sample database system. This easy-to-use Windows based application provides point-and-click control of the scanner and an on-screen display of the barcode image with colorful visual scan status for quick confirmation of the scanning process. Barcodes are also displayed on the screen so the user can quickly evaluate any non-decodable barcodes.
