Western Blotting. Visualizing bands using Films or digital imaging system
I have continuously used BrightStar™ ECL Detection kit that is a HRP Chemiluminescent Substrate for my Western Blotting. The product have given me very good data and has helped produce data from blots with very low concentrations of protein. The product is a highly sensitive luminolbased chemiluminescent substrate that employs horseradish peroxidase (HRP). In my experience the reagents seem very sensitive and has given me consistent results. Alkali scientific Inc's price is reasonable and they have an excellent customer service and inter phase. I have tried them directly for antibodies that are weak. They enhance the required band width with minimum background. I have also used them with regular ECL reagents in small proportions. They show up well in both PVDF and nitrocellulose membranes. The value for money is great and this reagent has helped me come up with some good Westerns of publication quality.
