BSA fraction V
Albumin Bovine, Fraction V
This albumin (Cohn fraction V) is suitable for multiple uses as a nutrient in growth media, to increase the viscosity and/or the amount of protein in certain antibiotic test media, as a blocking agent in Western Blots or ELISA applications, inhibitor for biochemical or structural studies in vitro, and in the formulation of veterinary vaccines.
Also allows the stabilization of certain restriction enzymes or DNA digestion and finally prevents the adhesion of enzymes to tubes and pipette tips.
- Filtered through a 0.2 µm filter prior to lyophilization
- Blocking agent in Western blots or ELISA applications
Application Notes
Albumin is a general blocking reagent in ELISA, as a nutrient in cell & microbial culture, it also stabilizes some enzymes during the digestion of DNA. It is also used to determine the number of other proteins, by comparing an unknown quantity of protein to known amounts of BSA.
