Cross reactivity
This antibody cross reacts with mouse.
Specificity
Antibody is thought to react with whole molecule (1-37) and 23-37 fragment (C term). Specifically visualises CGRP in brain cells.
IHC
The dilution of 1/200 - 1/1600 is recommended when using AB/A as the detection method. The vial contains 100 µl (equivalent to 10 µl neat serum).
Immunogen
Synthetic rat Tyr-CGRP (23-37) conjugated to gamma globulin.
Antigen preservation
Tissues can be preserved in Bouin's or formaldehyde. Frozen and paraffin sections are suitable.
ELISA
In a simple ELISA using 400 ng of 1720-9304 (whole 1-37 rat CGRP) coated per well, the 50% binding was observed at an antibody dilution of 1/850. Under the same conditions, the end point titre was observed at an antibody dilution of 1/50K.
These titres were elucidated using an HRP labelled secondary antibody/TMB detection system.
