CLC Bioinformatics Cube is built on cutting edge technology and innovative design, which will change the way scientists think of hardware-accelerated bioinformatics. The Cube takes out the hassle of high-performance computing, by offering a powerful, flexible and integrated hardware-accelerated bioinformatics solution, which is accessed with ease through the USB port and a graphical user interface.

Powerful
The hardware-solutions are based on completely new and innovative implementation of FPGA-based chip designs, ensuring a performance per accelerator unit of - at least - 50 times that of a fast 3 GHz/4 GB RAM desktop computer, when running the Smith-Waterman algorithm. We are currently working on implementing various algorithms, such as ClustalW and BLAST.

Integrated
The Cube can be operated conveniently from within any of CLC bio’s workbenches, such as CLC Free Workbench, CLC Protein Workbench, CLC Gene Workbench - or the CLC Combined Workbench, which aggregates all of the features contained within the multiple workbenches. Users also have the option of using a command-line interface.

Portable
Simply bring your calculating power wherever you need it, and use it whenever you like. Just plug in two cables to a small external box - one cable for power and one for a USB connection - and you are finished. This is a small and handy solution for scientists who are tired of waiting in queue for server capacity – now you have the power of a mini cluster readily on hand with no hassles!
