Remote monitoring can be particularly useful if the instrument is in a clean room, biosafety cabinet or cold room and laboratory access is difficult or could risk assay contamination.
The new Freedom EVO® Remote, available on the iPhone App Store, allows convenient monitoring through an iPod touch or an iPhone. The application displays a list of all instruments in the network and their respective status, as well as detailed run information. This is useful not only for the operator running a system, but also for lab managers needing an overview of their instruments.
