Penicillin-Streptomycin-L-glutamine combines two antibiotics with a nutrient which is essential for cell growth, L-glutamine. Penicillin inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis (essential for the bacterial cell wall), and streptomycin inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis.
