It combines the best features of automated and manual cell counting. Manual cell counting is accurate but often time-consuming and subject to user error, and automated cell counting is faster and less user-dependent, but disposable slide consumables can be expensive. This cell counter combines the best features of both processes. It is fast due to cloud-based image processing; accurate because it has a learning algorithm; its low cost is an advantage since no consumables are required, and it is easy to use I just have to connect the cell counter to my computer and start the cloud app.

Cell counting
Compact counter. Easy and intuitive to use and applicable for many different cell types e.g. adherent and non-adherent. Some initial issues with gating live/dead cells but this was resolved. Useful to be able to take images of samples and be able to keep a record of cell counts.

Cell counting
Everyone in the lab is pretty enthusiastic about the cell counter compared to the alternative or formerly applied methods/devices for a number of reasons: tiny dimensions of the device, easily installed, intuitive use (check the YouTube video!), improved data quality, less time consuming working step. For a quick estimation of the cell number: suspension cells can even be directly measured in the culture flask without loading onto the counting chamber.

Count live and dead cells
The Corning Cell counter is a fabulous thing! It is very user-friendly, it runs fast, the results given are graphic and numeric. Software is great, as it is on the Cloud and reachable from anywhere afterwards. The instrument is small and portable. Excellent choice!

Cell counting
High quality results and easy to use. I particularly like the fact that reusable glass hemocytometers are used, reducing waste and running costs.

Cell counting
This cell counter is very easy to use and eliminates the need for costly disposable counting slides. Since the analysis is online, the functions of analysis are improving often as users request additional features.

Cell counting - determination of cytotoxicity following exposure to environmental toxicants
Absolutely. Very easy to use, and yields reproducible results. We are able to quickly perform cell counts on dozens of samples in rapid succession - whereas the traditional methods for trypan blue counting were much more labor intensive.

Cell counts for flow and plating experiments
The cell counter is a great tool for a quick estimate of the number of cells. I am not sure how reproducible the cell count is if you need an absolute count. We use it for relative counts and estimates. It has been great. Due to space issues we do not have it set up in a dedicated spot, so we use it a portable set up. It is small enough that we can set it up almost anywhere and the set up is easy, taking less than 5 minutes. I think it has excellent value and speeds up cell counting if you have a lot of samples to count. It is relatively inexpensive too because you reuse the hemacytometer and don't have to buy separate counting chambers for each sample like many of the automated cell counters.

Cell biology
We compared the cell counter with manually counting. The data matches very nicely if you do not overload the slides with too high a cell density. To get reliable data, high debris content should also not be present.

The new Corning Cell Counter is the first automated cell counter that combines the best of both worlds. It is:
- Fast – thanks to its online image processing
- Accurate – thanks to its cloud-based machine learning algorithm.
- Low-cost – works with common reusable glass hemocytometer. No consumables required.
