Cuvettes for photometric analyses
SARSTEDT AG67.742
High-quality and transparent disposable cuvettes made from polystyrene and acrylic
Since the 1970s, SARSTEDT has been well-known as a manufacturer of high-quality disposable cuvettes made from polystyrene (PS) and acrylic (PMMA). The cuvettes are Also available as a 2x optical semi-micrcuvette and a 4x optical cuvette for 90° angle fluorescence measurements. In order to capture the increasingly important UV range down to 220 nanometres (nm), the product range has been expanded to include UV transparent disposable cuvettes.
Product benefits at a glance:
- Sorted by mold cavity number
- Wide range of cuvette types for different applications
- Convenient Styrofoam packaging available
- Polystyrene: ideal for use in the visual range and the UV transparent range down to 330 nm
- Acrylic: enhanced light transmission in the UV range, can be used down to approx. 300 nm
Typical applications and product features of the UV cuvette:
- Photometric quantification of nucleic acids at 260 nm, and proteins at 280 nm
- Minimal UV absorption for DNA, RNA and protein quantification
- Suitable for photometers with a light centre height (LCH) of 8.5 mm and 15 mm: Eppendorf Biophotometer, ThermoSpectronic, Perkin Elmer, Bio-Rad, Analytik Jena etc.
- Minimizes absorbance deviations due to consistently accurate optical quality
- Economical alternative to quartz cuvettes
- Optionally, SARSTEDT can also supply individual UV cuvettes sealed with lids (certified DNA-/RNase-/protein-free) which can be used both for safe sample storage and to avoid contamination
