Ploidy/genome size testing
Oxidation of plant samples during flow cytometric ploidy/genome size analysis can be annoying and actually affecting the results. The new kit from Sysmex seems to overcome this problem, at least our productivity improved with the use of this kit.

Flow cytometric ploidy/genome size determination
The new Cystain kit is intended to help with plant tissue samples which are prone to oxidation and the flow cytometric measurements are affected by these oxidative changes. Recently we tested this product and we did not see the typical discoloration of the cell suspensions, which are typical when the samplea are oxidized, and the histograms were fine, so I will keep using this product.
