Perfect results right out of the box

The FAS-V imaging platform combines a high resolution CCD camera, brilliant touch-screen display, and the superior technology of ultra-bright Blue/Green LEDs into one powerful package. The aquamarine illumination hits the sweet spot for exciting common fluorescence DNA dyes such as EtBr and Sybr Green, so you can always expect at least equivalent results as compared to UV transilluminators. What’s more, you can get those results without the risk of damaging DNA or harming your skin and eyes; unlike UV lamps, these LEDs don’t cross-link DNA! Each of the FastGene FAS-V’s three light sources is easily controlled by a gorgeous, 10.4" color touchscreen display. Exposure time and gain can be adjusted easily and intuitively, too! The FAS-V also gives you plenty of room to work. The huge imaging area is 260 mm x 210 mm, and the lighting uniformity is unsurpassed. The system comes with three types of illumination on-board:

  • Blue/Green LED technology enables the detection of red and green DNA dyes such as Midori Green, Sybr Green, and Ethidium Bromide (EtBr). This mode is most commonly used for the detection of DNA and RNA (both single and double stranded)
  • White LED transillumination allows for the detection of proteins in a gel with powerful white light from below. This mode is compatible with common colorimetric stains such as Coomassie and silver.
  • White LED room light is perfect for documentation of membranes and Petri dishes, with two perfectly placed LED arrays illuminating the whole imaging box from above. Black or white background can be chosen to increase or decrease contrast.
