We purchased this model recently for our Center for Nanotechnology, IIT Guwahati. The instrument is very versatile and easy to use with many options, including laser sources and steady state plus time-resolved spectra collection. It also has a low temperature measurement facility. The data is reliable and repeatable. It's a highly recommended instrument.

The FLS980-st is the world’s most sensitive modular, computer controlled spectrofluorimeter offering combined steady state and fluorescence lifetime capabilities. Regarded as a complete laboratory in one instrument, the FLS980-st offers ultimate sensitivity with high spectral resolution and excellent stray light rejection.

Features:

High dynamic range and temporal resolution Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) operation. TCSPC is widely accepted to be the method of choice for maximum sensitivity, dynamic range, accuracy and precision.

Fully computer controlled through Windows software Full data reconvolution using a non-linear least square fitting routine.

The steady state mode uses a single photon counting, fast photon counter scalar PC plug-in card for steady state measurements. This card operates with count rates up to 100MHz .

For fluorescence lifetime acquisition the system employs the technique of Time Correlated Single Photon Counting: this technique is widely accepted to be the method of choice for maximum sensitivity, dynamic range, accuracy and precision. F900 software for comprehensive spectrometer control, performance monitoring, fluorescence spectral data acquisition, correction and analysis library.

Software Interface:

In keeping with the modularity of the FLS980-st spectrometer, the F900 advanced software is a user friendly package. Irrespective of the system configuration and accessories, the F900 software provides the user with complete control. Measurement set-up and data acquisition is made through a transparent menu system and the measurement modes within the software reflect the system configuration by means of a simple operating environment. Control of the hardware settings on both the TCC900 and the PCS900 data acquisition cards are easily accessed through the F900 software.
