Good system and good support from Tecan to resolve any issues
Downstream Processing
The set up we have has good reproducibility, the equipment works well. There is a design fault with the chromatography column setup which Tecan are aware of, currently under service package this is resolved fairly quickly just annoying. Plates operate well but set up of centrifuge and deck takes time for chromatography screening. Overall once you have invested the time the results can be reliable and fast.

Resin screening, product prep
The setup is slightly complicated, we needed to work on the shuttle quite a bit. The programming was easy, but there are some hardware challenges using the Robocolumns. The LiHa tips get gripped into the columns and sometimes LiHa takes the whole column to the wash station! Maybe an additional plate cover would help.

Software is much better than past systems I used. easy to program and lots of options for lab ware and custom configuration for in house lab ware. overall very nice pipetting station with options for span 8 pipetting as well as 96 well pipetting. we integrated multiple instruments on the system and once optimized for our configuration it works well. programs can be easily exported to other system with same configuration saving time setting up same method on several systems.

Great tool to aid in the rapid process development of protein therapeutics.
Downstream Process Development
Use of Te-chrom to aid in process development reduces material consumption and increases the process knowledge in shorter period of time. Additionally, the use of the vacuum manifold and centrifuge is employed for rapid purification in batch format. These include resin and buffer screening, protein solubility mapping and the purification of Upstream samples to support cell culture process development.

Protein purification
We have a Tecan EVO for a few years. At the beginning, it worked fine. In the recent one to two years, the T-shuttle starts giving us problems multiple times (it suddenly didn't move). The engineer came to repair it but the same problem occurred again afterwards which became annoying. I hope the new generation of T shuttle would be more robust.
