The BrandTech pipette works exactly as intended. We didn't have any problems with it. It is also easy to get any replacement parts down the road if needed. We had it for over 5 years and zero issues with it. The accuracy and precision is always on point.

Repeat pipetting
This is a great idea and started off as a great product. For repeat pipetting, this is invaluable. Many repeat pipettors can only use one or a limited number of tips, but the Brandtech Handystep electronic pipettor can use about any tip out there. For automatic recognition and best results, however, you have to use their tips. The good is that you are able to set custom values, like 34uL or 106 uL and repeat them (depending on the tip). It will even tell you haw many aliquots you can do. The problem I had is that the battery seemed to die after only a year or so. We got replacements easily enough, but this seems like a pretty short life. After a few years of off and on use, now the electronics are messed up. It is to the point that it is basically unusable and might need to be sent back for service (which we did once quite a while ago). Rather than service, we purchased the upgraded Handystep Touch; hopefully, it will work better.
