Imidazole

Imidazole is a heterocyclic organic used as a building block for the manufacture of imidazole-containing anticancer drugs, antifungals and antibiotics. It functions as a buffer, with roles in protein electrophoresis and chromatography. Its interaction with DNA and effects on cell division give it additional roles in molecular and cell biology.
