Product is no worse in performance than the discontinued TBS blocking buffer (927-50000), if anything it gives sharper bands on the western blots with slightly brighter signal. Would recommend.

This product is available with different buffer chemistries that are commonly used in western blots, allowing the user to select a product that comes ready to use out of the bottle. It is particularly valuable as has been optimized for low background detection with infrared fluor-labeled antibodies. Customer service from Li-COR is second to none, whether by phone or email; I've often communicated directly with their application scientists. Of course, with any commercially prepared reagent, you pay more for the advantage of the time you save from having to optimize reagents you might prepare yourself. In this case, it is well worth the investment.

Great, easy to use blocking buffer!
Used as a blocking buffer in our in-cell western assays
We used the LI-COR Intercept Blocking Buffers for our in-cell western work. It is easy to use (ready right out of the bottle!) and ships right when you order it. We got better results using this than we had with other blocking buffers (either homemade or from other manufacturers).

Western blotting - blocking agent
We recently switched from the Odyssey blocking buffer (TBS) to the Intercept blocking buffer (TBS). We use this blocking buffer for all the blots we run in the lab including phosphorylated proteins. More importantly, we get nicer results with the Intercept than when using milk or BSA for the detection of phospho-proteins. We basically don't need to optimize the blocking conditions when using the Intercept. We normally get the 3 bottles since it is cheaper. I wish that they would give the option to buy the blocking buffer together with the membranes as they used to do with the Odyssey blocking buffer.

Western blots
It is a super blocking buffer. It is fast, reliable with not too much background on the blot. It produces consistent results. I have tried reusing it once and I still got very good results. However, it cannot be reused multiple times. My blots are cleaner and nicer. It’s been 2 years since I've been using it and I’m quite impressed with the results. Will surely recommend to people looking for best.
