Electrochemistry
I like Gamry - they make some great potentiostats but I was a bit sad to learn that when I tried running a CV with PF iR compensation it did not seem compatible. In hindsight the Reference model might have been a preferable choice given such a limitation. Otherwise, I really think that the user interface for Gamry's software is rather clunky and non-intuitive. For example, Bio-logic and EC-lab has a far superior software that comes with it. Granted despite the steep learning curve it's not too bad afterwards, however, one flaw remains that you cannot change settings (for say a CV) in real time like some other softwares.

If you're looking for a general-purpose potentiostat for cyclic voltammetry or similar studies for basic research such as determining redox potentials, reaction mechanisms, diffusion coefficients, rate constants and electrochemical surface area.
