Invitrogen™ SuperScript™ II Reverse Transcriptase

Thermo Fisher Scientific18064014Available: Worldwide

Invitrogen SuperScript II Reverse Transcriptase is a genetically engineered MMLV reverse transcriptase (RT) with reduced RNase H activity and increased thermal stability compared to wild-type MMLV RT. Mutations in the RNase H domain of the enzyme eliminate degradation of the RNA during first-strand cDNA synthesis, which results in higher yields of full-length cDNA. SuperScript RTs are the most highly trusted and widely used…

Application Area:

Gene expression analsysis

A bit expensive, but easy to use, and high quality results. You save money by avoiding doing many tests and getting technical errors.

Reproducible, highly active on structured RNA!

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Detection of RNA

Never had a problem in reverse transcription with this enzyme. We typically use the SuperScript™ IV First-Strand Synthesis System with gene-specific primer. Results are always reproducible, even for highly structured RNA-templates. Reportedly SS IV and Maxima H reverse transcriptases give the highest efficiency on the market.

Very effective for my constructs

Average Rating 3.7

Application Area:

Reverse transcription

I think the SuperScript II Reverse Transcriptase is a useful product that meets the criteria for Molecular Biologuy and efficiently transcribes RNA with great quality. In my experience it doe not differ much from the SS-III which costs more.
