Little magic magnetic stirrer.
Stirring of solutions
Easy to use, basically turn it on, adjust your speed settings and let it do its magic. I use the IKA magnetic stirrer myPlate. It is under 6 months old. I have used heating hot plates in the past which are good for their purpose, but currently not needing heat to stir my testing solution. Great little device and is very mobile, if in the field. It runs as low as 100W so it is great for solar invertor set up in the field.

Chemical synthesis
The IKA RCT digital stirrer hotplate is an excellent addition to any laboratory. The clear indication of temperature and speed allow you to record the exact parameters of any experiment. As with all other IKA products, the build quality is excellent and can be relied on for all types of mixing experiments. The angled exterior allows for easy cleaning if there are any spills and prevents ingress of material into the device itself. A very well designed and built piece of equipment.

Great piece of kit for an ice cream kitchen
Ice cream pasteurisation
I have owned both an IKA CMAG HS 7 and a HS 10 hot plate for several years and use them to pasteurise large volumes of ice cream mix. Very happy with the large ceramic heating top on the HS 10: its high heating rate allows me to pasteurise around 10 litres of ice cream mix. Very accurate temperature readings and well built. I'll shortly be ordering a second HS 10 hot plate.

Heating and stirring organic reactions
One of the most reliable stir plates available. Heating is very accurate, especially when paired with the temperature probe. Built in timer is also highly useful. The glass top is extremely easy to clean.

Medicinal chemistry
We have tried several brands of magnetic stirrers in our lab but none came close to the quality and robustness of the IKA RCT Basic. They are easy to use and reliable, allowing the user to leave reactions for prolonged periods, stirring and/or heating with no cause for concern. Though 5 stars given for after sales care, we haven't actually needed any after care as nothing has ever gone wrong! Our current plates are still going strong (mine are over 8 years old!) and we await the delivery of 6 more units; expecting them to last for many years to come. A top quality product at an affordable price.

IKA hotplates are very reliable and easy to use. Even though I preferred the old-school analog ones, I got used to the digital ones that are quite easy to use. A new line of hotplates gets even a lifetime warranty, which is extremely appealing. You definitely get what you pay for.
