Data Analysis
If you are a student starting out - I highly recommend looking into R. Sometimes there is a lot of code in the lab and it might take a long time for you to rewrite it in R - but barring that possibility, there is no good reason to not consider R your first choice.

This computer program offers fantastic flexibility, however it has a very steep learning curve. If you are good with learning how to write code, you'll love it. If code isn't your thing you'll most likely want to hire someone to write scripts for you.
