Thermostability Assay
This is an easy to use machine with a great after sales support. The Agilent equipment to my knowledge is one of the few RT-PCR machines with the ability to read CPM dye. The only other equipment with the ability to excite CPM is at least twice the price and has a design not suitable for high-throughput 96 well format assays.

Thermal Shift Assays
The Mx is an extremely good value for money qPCR machine. The software is very intuitive, making setting up new protocols much easier than say the ABi machine. Furthermore, I can fit it on my bench; the footprint is about the same as a computer. Agilent have been great in helping me set up the machine and get it going, can't complain there at all.

qPCR for bacterial detection
I use this machine to run routine qPCR assays for multiplexed bacterial detection. The machine has five different fluorescent dye channels that are customizable. There are several options available to set up and analyze data, along with ease of exporting data into other formats, such as .csv. This is the only qPCR machine I have used, though, so I may be biased.
