Too much background noise.
Analyze zinc in drinking water samples.
PinAAcle 900F is very easy to use. The only issue with the instrument is the background noise that occurs, so if you have a long run (like over 5 samples), the background noise that occurs throughout the run will cause all of the end of the run QC samples and blanks to fail because that gets added into the actual analyzed concentrations.

Technology is great. The autosamplers can be a little hard to juggle if you have furnace and flame technique. The pump tubing on the flame autosampler wore out quickly.

Excellent AA
We have had this atomic absorption spectrometer for over 2 years now. Initially there were some software issues, but once the software was reinstalled it worked fine. PerkinElmer service and support has been excellent! The AS900 autosampler has some wear problems, but the company is standing behind it and correcting the manufacturing issues. The software is fairly easy to work with. Overall the instrument has been a reliable work horse for our lab. I would gladly purchase additional lab equipment from this manufacturer.
