Powerful little device!

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Passage of solutions through 96-well filter plates or 96-well solid-phase extraction columns

This manifold has proven to be an improved alternative to the classical vacuum manifold, especially when it comes to hard to handle samples such as thick suspensions and viscous samples. Unlike the classical vacuum manifold, the positive pressure can be regulated. Additionally, applying positive pressure from the top appears to reduce the occurrence of clogging, especially when utilizing smaller pore-size filter membranes. Finally, again, in contrast with the vacuum manifold, it allows to stack more than one filtration/SPE plate allowing the process to proceed continuously saving the operator valuable hands-on time.

Toxicology, Sample Prep

If you want to do reproducible SPE extraction this is the best choice you can choose. It works only with gas pressure (preferred nitrogen) and without electricity! (That’s something rare nowadays!!). So it is very easy to use and the positive pressure is more recommended for SPE than vacuum. In addition, it is less noisy and more comfortable for the technicians. The same system with a liquid handling would be perfect!
