Great instrument and easy to use

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Protein Analysis

Have had the instrument for over two years. It is easy to use, easy to maintain and easy to troubleshoot. You can set up hours of analyses overnight and come in and see the results in the morning. Gives consistent results and its ease of use makes it very easy to train on. Very happy with the instrument.

Okay results.

Average Rating 3.0

Application Area:

Analyze for total crude protein

Expensive to use and not great value for the money. Results are significantly different from similar instruments on the market. Would not recommend purchasing if someone is in the market for one.

Good unit, but you need to learn how to optimize your applications.

Average Rating 3.7

Application Area:

Plant product analysis

Purchased the unit about 4 years ago. Problematic method development and the maintenance cycle was much shorter than expected. When we did get the system in steady state, the processing was generally good. We did have some issues that surprised the Elementar Tech Reps with sulfur build up and some software glitches. We also had a problem with leaks after about a year of use. One of them was due to a faulty sensor and another due to a poor weld. Generally the service was good. The machine is intended to be run fairly constantly. We often had only 50 to 100 samples to run in a two to three day period. The unit we feel is a better option than the comparable Leco unit for our different applications on plant based food processing streams.

Great results, better made and easier to maintain

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Protein analysis for dairy milk

We have two of these instruments at different sites in North America. We ran comparison tests with this instrument and competitor instrument and a third party lab between sites to compare results across sites, and against the kjedahl method for analysis. Overall, the Elementar outperformed the 3rd party lab, and the competitor instrument. The Elementar was more closely in line with the Kjedahl results, which was better than expected.

Great customer service!

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Analyse protein in chicken and turkey meal

Customer service and their speed of filling orders are both top-notch, even with an older machine customer service is very helpful in finding part numbers and helping our lab techs troubleshoot part numbers on items that aren’t changed that often. Once we have the information, the order department is very quick in communicating receipt of order, order processing and order sent, which keeps you feeling engaged and confident that your order is important not only to you but to Elementar.

Great instrument, very accurate nitrogen results.

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Analyze liquid fertilizers

I have been using the Rapid MAX N exceed for two years now and it is a great instrument that has extremely accurate nitrogen results for all of the materials I have analyzed on it. Everyday regular maintenance is no problem, but sometimes finding leaks can be tricky without practice. Anytime I had an issue with the instrument their tech support got me through the problem.

Easy to use and troubleshoot, less maintenance time than competitors' instrumentation.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Protein analysis of grains

The instrument is easy to use and maintenance is fairly easy once you get accustomed to it. I have noticed results of the same sample do vary during the same day, at least more than the Leco equivalent, which is the instrument we replaced with this. This indicates that the instrument does drift during analysis and it is best to run standard checks as standards and continually update the N factor.

MAXimum performance in protein analysis

Elementar’s rapid MAX N exceed is the first Dumas method N/protein analyzer that utilizes the highly successful EAS REGAINER® technology for larger sample weights.

Drawing on Elementar’s decades of expertise, the instrument offers increased laboratory efficiency at a significantly lower price per sample. The rapid MAX N exceed stands for outstanding precision, sensitivity and sample flexibility, while its 24/7 unattended operation addresses the challenges faced by any high-throughput laboratory dealing with a wide range of sample types and weights.

Its use of the crucible technique makes it a low-maintenance instrument, while inputting sample weights up to 5 g reduce the homogenization process.

Ease of use
The unique post-combustion technology ensures the complete digestion of even the most challenging species, omitting the need for grinding or milling without affecting reliable data quality. This helps you save valuable time in sample preparation.

Highest sample throughput
The rapid MAX N exceed offers N/protein determination in just five minutes, while the 90-position autosampler makes it possible to measure 300 samples per day. By utilizing EAS REGAINER® technology, users can run more than 1,000 samples without the need to exchange the reducing agent, meaning customers can enjoy outstanding low-maintenance intervention for industry-leading system uptime.

Sample flexibility
The upright crucible design ensures optimal combustion of any kind of liquid samples, including milk, beer, soft drinks, juice and soy sauce, while solid samples of 1 g can be measured with outstanding precision and accuracy. The inclusion of unique post-combustion technology allows reliable, efficient and matrix-independent data collection to be achieved.

Future-proof investment
A 10-year warranty on the analyzer’s furnace and thermoconductivity detector (TCD) showcases its outstanding robustness and longevity, while our commitment to providing spare parts for a decade highlights our well-known long-term dedication to technical support. This combination results in an outstanding low cost of ownership and gives customers confidence in their return on investment.

Measuring method:
The instrument offers high-temperature combustion with 100% recovery and detection of the released nitrogen. It can be used for N/protein Dumas analysis, according to AOAC, DIN/ISO, EN and most relevant international standards.

Easy sample handling:
Directly weigh in reusable steel crucibles, without any special pre-treatment. Suitable for solids or liquids up to several grams or milliliters.

Safe, fast, and clean:
The analysis takes only a few minutes and there is no need for aggressive or toxic chemicals to physically and chemically separate water and interfering gases.

Large concentration range:
The concentration range measures from 20 ppm to 100% or 500 mg absolute N content.

Low operational requirements:
The instrument takes up less than one meter of laboratory working space and only needs one electrical connection and two operating gases for maintenance-free, long-term operation. Uses helium or argon carrier gases as standard.

Fully automatic:
Control the integrated 90-sample charger through Windows-based operating software or optional 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software.
