Tissues from fin clips in Ethanol and DMSO
We used this kit for field samples taken from tropical fish. Tissue samples were taken from the dorsal fin of the fish and stored in ethanol or in DMSO for transport. The tissue samples were very small and the tissue was not very DNA-rich. However, with the Promega kit, we were able to purify a large amount of DNA compared to other column-based kits. The quality and purity of the DNA were also great. The handling of the kit was very easy and the protocol was also quite fast. We recommend this kit.
