Reliable and easy to use rodent surgical system

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Rodent procedures

We had been using the old rodent surgical system for several years and switched to the current Rodent Surgical Monitor+ (RSM+) system 4-5 years ago. We use them on a daily basis for temperature control during all surgeries and ECG for cardiovascular procedures. Both the old and new systems are reliable and easy to use. We like the wireless feature on the new RSM+ system, which keeps the working area tidy. The platform surface on the new RSM+ system is white and got stained easily. A gray or other dark color would be better.

Reliable and useful platform for surgery and ECG phenotyping

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Rodent cardiovascular phenotyping

Our core has had a couple of RSM+ units for several years. We use one to monitor animals during surgical procedures and it is very helpful for providing supportive heat and monitoring vitals. We use the other unit to screen mice (genetic ko or other manipulations) for ECG abnormalities and arrhythmias. With the optional analog output the data can be fed directly into a powerlab. In general, the system has been very reliable and Scintica has provided excellent support as technical concerns have arisen.
