Flexible and powerful multi-reader
Quantify fluorescent bacteria in microplate cultures
I recently started using this instrument to quantify bacteria with fluorescent reporter genes. I was able to quantify down to a few thousand CFU per 96-well which was surprisingly sensitive. It comes with a large number of excitation/emission filters built in and you can also tweak other parameters like lamp power. I have not tried some of the other functions like luminescence or TIRF yet. The interface is pretty user-friendly. My only complaint is that it's slightly confusing as to which text box is for saving the name of the experimental protocol vs an individual experiment run. It exports data to Excel easily.
