SeQuant® ZIC®-HILIC HPLC Columns
ZIC®-HILIC HPLC columns for the separation of all classes of polar and hydrophilic compounds. What is HILIC? HILIC or Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography is a straightforward chromatographic technique for separation of many types of polar and hydrophilic compounds. To put it simple one can say that HILIC is a normal-phase (NPLC) type of separation but uses reversed-phase (RPLC) type eluents. In HILIC one has: A c…
Analysis of drug metabolites in RBC lysates
Great column, great and unique separation. And if you work with MS it offers a gain in sensitivity in comparison with RP columns. A bit of a downside is short column life. And you have to be careful with purity of things you put on these columns because they are prone to clogging.

Glycopeptides
This column is very stable and works great for the HILIC analysis of glycopeptides. Its pressure is very stable. The sequent group however is not very friendly during tech support.

Plasma analysis
ZIC-HILIC has good separation property for small polar compounds.

Analyze metabolites from plasma
SeQuant ZIC-HILIC columns have wide range of pH. I have used it with ease and the results are highly reproducible. I feel that the price can be lowered.

Analytical Chemistry
The column gave good results as expected. The quality of the packed material is really good. The worst thing is the external surface of the container because its made of plastic and it could swell.

In HILIC one has:
- A column with a hydrophilic stationary phase
- An eluent with water, buffer and a high concentration of water-miscible organic solvent
Analytes such as amino acids, peptides, carbohydrates, plant extracts and various other polar compounds that usually have little or no retention and may be affected by wettability problems in RPLC, generally have strong retention on the ZIC®-HILIC column.
The zwitterionic ZIC®-HILIC stationary phase is attached to porous silica and is available in columns from capillary to preparative dimensions. The separation is achieved by a hydrophilic partitioning mechanism superimposed on weak electrostatic interactions.
- Improved separation of hydrophilic and polar compounds
- Orthogonal selectivity to Reversed Phase (RP HPLC)
- Optimal combination with Mass Spectroscopy (MS)
- Excellent stability
