Somewhat compact and self-contained, the footprint is manageable and it fits well into our workflow. The users all appreciate the simple maintenance and reagent management features. It's heavy and solid, but once in place it stays put.

The instrument it self is a workhorse, the Middleware still need improvement.
Coagulation testing
The instrument is easy to operate. The Middleware is not the as easy to operate. Way to many times to login. When you start the instrument you have to log into the Middleware 3 times then there is another login for the instrument itself. Windows 10 has the ability to print reports and other info messed up. Hopefully the programmers will get a fix soon.

Good instrument. Ease of use. Easy maintenance daily, weekly and monthly. Fast turn time. Ease of loading reagents and patient samples. Definitely one of the better coag instruments I have worked on.

Integrated STA Coag Expert Software provides full auto-verification, repeat/reflex testing, a comprehensive QC package, accreditation tools, automated maintenance logs, TAT monitoring and maintains 5 years of patient archives onboard. The Compact Max is available with an optional cap-piercing system to reduce bio-hazard exposure risks.
