Basic research at a major University

Analyze the tissue/cell injury under venom processing
Effectiveness is very high, but too expensive. It helps a lot in our research, but we still need some upgrades, which are not available for us, because such kind of purchase is very unique in our country.

microbiological analyses
The ability of this Leica system to use a 'white laser' has been a major step up. It allows one to probe for inherent auto fluorescence at many excitations, which provide critical molecular information, especially regarding proteins. The sensitivity and resolution are getting better compared with older, comparable systems. I hope that sometime soon, Leica will be able to release a combined super-resolution/confocal system. This will be especially helpful in the area of nano-microbial research.
