TB-Fluor phenol-free
Mycobacteria Staining
Fluorescence staining allows acid-resistant Mycobacteria to be easily identified even when their numbers are small. As it has become an established procedure alongside Ziehl-Neelson staining (Tb-color modified), we provide three ready-to-use solutions in our TB-fluor, phenol-free staining kit. Of these, the first solution contains the two fluorescent dyes, Rhodamine B – staining red - and Auramine O – staining yellowish-green – which can be used depending on the filter combination of the microscope. Here, the auramine-rhodamine staining solution is prepared without phenol and the efficient penetration of the dyes into the target structures is achieved through a phenol substitute that is more user- and eco-friendly than phenol. Further, the kit supplies a decolorization solution and a potassium permanganate solution that turns the background uniformly black, suppressing troublesome intrinsic fluorescence of the specimen. If required, double staining with Tb-color modified (ZN) is possible. The Tb-fluor, phenol-free-kit, modified is designed to be used for smears, thougt it can also be used for paraffin sections. The kit is sufficient for up to 60-65 preparations and is an IVD / CE registered product.
