Screening in Blood Bank
Vitros HIV Combo Kit offers very high sensitivity as well as specificity for the detection of HIV antigen/antibody in the donated blood units. The window period for detection has been significantly lowered compared to traditional ELISA techniques which provides a better safety margin. The turnaround time is reasonably better than other similar methods. The controls incorporated with the testing system can be graphically interpreted to ensure that appropriate quality standards are maintained. The only drawback is that the cost is slightly higher compared to other available methods, but works out well if a larger number of tests are to be performed.

Great results, very happy!
HIV Combo
We got HIV Combo about a year and a half ago and are very happy with the results. The analyzer tests for the p-24 antigen, HIV-1, and HIV-2. It is very effective for picking up recent exposure to HIV to allow the physician to treat quickly. This allowed us to bring HIV testing in house and reduce off-site testing for HIV.
