3M™ Empore™ UR-SD Standard Well Plate
3M BioanalyticalThis chemistry promotes high retention of a wide range of analytes, reducing method development time and facilitating a generic approach to sample preparation.
Spectroscopy enables researchers to identify chemical compounds, determine molecular structures, and understand fundamental properties of samples through the analysis of absorption, emission, or scattering of light or other forms of radiation. From infrared (IR spectroscopy) to ultraviolet (UV-visible spectroscopy) wavelengths, spectroscopy plays a vital role in various scientific fields. Explore how spectroscopy drives innovation and discovery across diverse research areas.

Functional groups, such as octyl (C8) and octadecyl (C18), can be bonded to the silica surface to provide non polar interactions. Each of these sorbents exhibits unique properties of retention and selectivity for a particular analyte. The choice of which sorbent is best for a particular method will be influenced by the percent recovery of analyte from the sample matrix and the cleanliness of the resulting chromatography.

This mixed phase chemistry, in which two primary modes of attraction are present, allows for a more efficient and selective extraction compared to traditional reversed phase techniques. Neutral and ionized analytes can be simultaneously extracted from a complex mixture and eluted as separate fractions. A mixed phase sorbent offers the following advantages: Eluting acidic and neutral analytes separately from basic analyt…

The Empore™ High Performance Extraction Disk Plate differs in design from plates offered by other manufacturers and requires a specific vacuum manifold. Manifolds supplied by different plate manufacturers are specific to the design of their plates and cannot generally be used with plates from other manufacturers. In some cases, the use of spacers to raise/lower the height of a collection device inside the manifold may overco…
Replacement gaskets are available with the vacuum manifold assembly. The gasket can become worn over time and the seal between the plate and the manifold will be affected. This may result in poor vacuum pressure and negatively effect flow rates. The gasket should be checked regularly and replaced when it becomes worn.
EmporeTM Tape Pads are intended for sealing unused portions of a 96-well solid phase extraction plate during vacuum processing to enable vacuum to be uniformly applied to each well being used. Use a clean sheet each time for maximum sealing ability. Note: these tape sheets are not intended for sealing collection plates prior to sample injection because the adhesive may clog the injection needle.
