Analysis of Canister Air Using Cryogen-Free Thermal Desorption in Compliance with US EPA Method TO-15

This Application Note describes the analysis of a TO-15 canister ‘air toxics’ standard using thermal desorption preconcentration, while avoiding the requirement for cryogenic cooling. Detection of compounds ranging in volatility from methyl chloride to hexachlorobutadiene is demonstrated at levels down to 0.1 ppb, while the quality of the analysis is demonstrated by excellent peak shape for isopropanol and by linearity studies.
