Analysis of Geological Materials for Rare Earth Elements on the PlasmaQuant® MS Elite

In recent years, there has been a rising demand for rare earth elements (REEs) for user electronics, catalysis and much more. Hence, there is the need for reliable trace analysis procedures in the assessment of potential mining sites, process control solutions and quality control of high-purity REEs. This application note presents the analysis of five geological reference materials, including rock, stream sediment and cement, regarding their REE content using ICP-MS and an Integrated Collision Reaction Cell to remove polyatomic interferences.
