Analysis of Trace-Level VVOCs and VOCs in High-Humidity Ambient Air by Thermal Desorption–GC–MS: Addressing Water Management Issues

8 Mar 2017

This application note describes how thermal desorption (TD) with GC–MS can be used to analyse trace-levels of volatile and very volatile organic compounds (VOCs and VVOCs) in ambient air. The article compares options for adapting these methods for high humidity samples, including use of the new Kori-xrTM system. The article highlights the benefits of Kori-xr, including enhanced recovery of low-boiling and polar VOCs and its sensitivity to important polar compounds ethanol and acetone
