Automated DNA Isolation from Whole Blood on the MICROLAB® STAR

6 Aug 2015

The isolation of DNA using conventional methods is increasingly proving to be a limiting and time-consuming factor for research, forensic and veterinary applications. This application note describes a set-up using Hamilton’s Microlab Star, enabling extraction of up to 2.5μg of total DNA per sample from blood using a validated, simple, reliable and fully automated procedure, with a throughput of 300 samples per shift.
