Automatic Injection of Cell-Polymer Suspensions for High-Throughput Cell Spheroid (CS) Screens

8 Jan 2015

In vitro Cell spheroids (CS) embedded in 3D extracellular matrix (ECM) are closest to mimic multicellular structures in vivo and can provide precise information about the effects of drug compounds on animal and human tissue. This application note demonstrates a novel method of microinjecting a cell-polymer suspension into collagen gel, which resulted in a rapid CS formation for a broad range of cell types. The method uses the Eppendorf InjectMan NI 2 and the FemtoJet express microinjector.
