Cell Counting and Morphology Visualization Utilizing Microplate Imaging Cytometry
30 Jul 2013Cell numbers are often indirectly estimated with benchtop microplate readers using luminescence or fluorescence readouts and assays for detecting ATP or cell viability dyes. While these assays can yield acceptable approximations, they do not provide visual information such as uniformity of growth, pipetting artifacts, or changes in cell size or morphology. Download this application note to read about the SpectraMax® i3 Multi-Mode Platform with an imaging cytometer option. These combined systems give cell-by-cell statistics and provide sensitivity that is > 100X more than a plate reading assay.
