Challenges in the Development of In Vitro Screens for Assessing Non-CYP Mediated Metabolism

1 Jun 2014

The aim of this study was to address the feasibility of developing in vitro metabolic screens for assessing the main non-CYP phase I enzymes responsible for metabolism of NCEs in human liver cytosol. Enzymes investigated include the molybdenum hydroxylases; aldehyde oxidase (AOX) and xanthine oxidase (XO), the alcohol and aldehyde dehydrogenases (ADH and ALDH), aldoketo reductases (AKR) and NADPH: quinone oxidoreductases (NQO).
