Clinical decision support software exceeds consistency

31 May 2024

With the rise of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and the growing number of genes analyzed, variant interpretation has become increasingly complex. QCI Interpret leverages a combined approach of artificial intelligence and expert human curation, known as augmented molecular intelligence, to analyze and classify variants based on extensive genomic databases. QIAGEN discusses the utility of the QCI Interpret for Oncology clinical decision support software in the interpretation of somatic variants in cancer diagnostics. QIAGEN also highlights a study conducted by GenQA involving eight laboratories which compared the consistency and accuracy of QCI Interpret to traditional laboratory methods. Results showed that QCI Interpret provided reliable and consistent variant classifications, often exceeding the agreement levels among expert variant scientists.
