Comparison of whole blood and precipitated blood for the quantitation of drugs of abuse using PaperSpray

This application note from Thermo Fisher Scientific details a study where PaperSpray-MS was used to analyze 21 drugs of abuse in methanol, whole blood, and precipitated blood to determine the utility of protein precipitation. PaperSpray-MS is a technique for rapidly quantifying analytes in dried matrix spots such as whole blood. Little or no sample preparation is required, and sample analysis times are two minutes or less.
