Comply with California Prop 65 with HDXRF®
29 Jan 2019In 1986, California voters approved an initiative to address concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. That initiative became the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of Proposition 65 (Prop 65). It is a labeling rule and does not ban or limit chemicals. Proposition 65 requires that consumers have a “clear and reasonable warning” if they are being exposed to chemicals which are known to cause cancer and/or reproductive toxicity. The state is required to publish a list of those chemicals at least annually and it has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987.
