Continuous Ion Current Recordings During Drug Delivery and Washout on an Automated Electrophysiological Platform
9 Jul 2011Here, Molecular Devices sought to determine whether the PatchXpress can be used to investigate the kinetics of slow recovery from compound block using the model of KV1.3 current following washout of three potassium (K+) channel blockers. Ionic currents activated during voltage clamp were recorded in CHO cells overexpressing KV1.3. To dissect the washout of agents in the immediate vicinity of the cell from actual interaction of the agents with the cell, the amplitude of the tail current was monitored by changes in the tail currents during the addition and washout of 45 mM extracellular K+.
