Determination of Beta Agonists in Animal Tissue and Urine
27 Nov 2018Beta-adrenergic receptor agonists are synthetic compounds that mimic some of the effects of naturally-occuring compounds by binding to beta-receptors on the surface of cells within the muscle, fat, and other tissues of animals. Some beta-agonists are used in human medicine for the treatment of conditions such as asthma, but they have also been used in livestock production to enhance growth and alter body composition.
