Determining Adsorbable Organically Bound Halogens in Highly Saline Waters After Solid Phase Extraction (SPE-AOX)

This application note describes a method for the determination of organically bound halogens (AOX) in samples where standard AOX methods are not applicable, for example, water with very high levels of inorganic chloride. SPE is a reliable technique used increasingly both sample preparation and purification, particularly where non- or semi-volatile analytes are present in low concentrations on complex matrices.
