Development of a 3D Microtissue Model for Testing Cardiotoxicity Based on Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells

This study combines the advantages of the InSphero GravityPlus™ hanging drop microtissue production platform with iPSC derived cardiomyocytes to generate standardized scaffold-free cardiac microtissues of reproducible quality in a convenient high throughput-compatible 96-well microtiter plate format. Such a model can be easily implemented in an automated screening campaign using standard liquid-handling robotics to improve the in vitro evaluation of drug candidates.
