DNA and RNA extraction from FFPE tissue

Take your DNA and RNA extraction from FFPE tissue to the next level

25 Sept 2022

Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue preservation is a method that was first developed 125 years ago to maintain tissue morphology. With the advent of DNA sequencing and other modern molecular methods in the past few decades, there has been great demand to extract DNA and RNA from FFPE tissue. However, FFPE is an imperfect sample type for such analyses because the nucleic acids are often highly degraded and cross-linked to proteins, as a result of the fixation process. Nevertheless, the dominance of FFPE samples in archives and its use in prospective studies means FFPE is likely to be widely used for years to come.

This application eBook provides an expert guide on how to improve and optimize DNA and RNA extraction from FFPE tissue, outlines isotachophoresis, explores new methods to enhance nucleic acid extraction and purification, and provides valuable information on how to effectively identify novel biomarkers from FFPE samples.

This eBook will also cover:

  • New technologies and solutions designed to enhance nucleic acid extraction and purification
  • Methods to generate higher yields with simple and automated workflows
