Electric Field Stimulation (EFS) of Human iPSC-Derived Neurons Using Hamamatsu FDSS/μCELL

18 Feb 2015

Hamamatsu has developed a 96-channel electrode array system that is mounted on the FDSS/µCELL. It adds electric field stimulations (EFS) to all 96 wells in a microplate simultaneously while fluorescence/luminescence signals are monitored. This study demonstrates the use of this instrumental setup to electrically stimulate human iPSC-derived neurons to evoke a Ca2+ response. The transient increase of intracellular Ca2+ concentration was measured with calcium-sensitive fluorescent dyes.
